| SPEAKER MEETING | |
Aug 8, 2008 Our guest speaker for the second weekly meeting of the month is Lushin Dubey, the lovely lady with eternal fizz, who charmed the adult audience at RCDC with a reading of un-censored works of children (!) and proceeded to dwell upon the finer nuances of magical expressions such as the thoroughly insatiable “aa . . . hhh” through a series of parodies enacted by the club members. Lushin believes that “an effective play is one that moves the audience . .” Much to the glee of our chief guest, she did succeed in getting the Chanakyapurians to move literally towards the south pole! Amongst the stalwarts of Delhi theatre, Lushin Dubey is best known for her involvement in promoting children's theatre in Delhi. Armed with four years of training in the subject from the United States in the mid-eighties, Lushin says that her reason for being involved with kids' theatre was because, "Children badly need a platform where they can sense fun and feel free to express themselves - a must for their personal development." Lushin is married to mathematician Dr Pradeep Dubey and is mother to two daughters, Ilina and Tara. |
